Located overlooking one of Nova Scotia's most beautiful Marinas, Barrachois Marina on the North Shore, Drala Point is the perfect retreat/getaway. Ideal for those families looking for the outdoor life or those simply looking for a break away from it all. The home is situated within 16 acres of quiet and beautiful woodland, but rests next to the water with private beach access. This extraordinary ecologically designed house was built by a German architect incorporating an environmentally friendly design using European training and techniques of "Bau-Biologie", (a German phrase for green architecture). It is a solar house with unfired clay walls that self-regulate moisture and temperature. In winter it has a cozy, warm indoor climate. In the summer it is naturally cool. The house boasts a total of 1,625sqft with a 300sqft sun-room. The living area is created, essentially, on one level. There are 4 large double bedrooms that all lie off the main open plan designed living room, kitchen and dining area. There are 2 bathrooms, one with Jacuzzi-whirl-pool and one with shower. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer, a vestibule and a large solarium, (sun-room). With water temperatures reaching 77 degrees F in July/August and a new marina and lobster wharf adjacent to the property, it is perfect for the water lovers. |

General Information Location: Overlooking Barrachois Marina located at Brule on the North Shore of Nova Scotia. The town of Tatamagouche lies 5 km away and the major commercial centre of Truro is about 35 minutes drive. Approximately 1 1/2 hours from Halifax International airport, 1 1/2 hours from Prince Edward Island and 1 hour from New Brunswick.
Amenities: Tatamagouche has a Hospital, Pharmacy, Post Office, Bank, Laundrette, restaurants and grocery stores. There is also a library, an art gallery plus many gift shops.Truro has all the facilities required in a major commercial centre.
